The Russian premiere of the stage version of the novel “Sérotonine” by the most discussed modern French writer Michel Houellebecq.

The life of the attractive and prosperous Florent-Claude Labrouste has reached a dead end. Neither an exotic relationship with the Japanese beauty Yuzu, nor a prestigious job as a business consultant, nor a comfortable life in the best area of Paris can save him from despair. The character decides to disappear forever from his present in order to go on a trip to France and his memories. He is attracted by the pure image of his beloved from his youth, intellectual disputes with a friend from university and the opportunity to escape from boring annoying reality. In general, everything that makes our brain produce serotonin, a magic hormone that brings a feeling of genuine happiness. But can a modern person enjoy life without doping? And what does the fascination with imagination games and antidepressants lead to?...
Andrey Prikotenko’s new performance is an eccentric and poetic narrative about the wandering of the hero of our time. The famous actor Ivan Volkov embodies the explosive and at the same time sensuous image of the main character. And his partners will play at least a dozen roles in one evening.

Andrey Prikotenko is a Russian theater director. As a stage director, he worked in theaters in Moscow, Riga, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Oryol. The chief director of the Novosibirsk State Drama Theater “Old House”. Previously, from 2007 to 2009, he was the artistic director of the Riga Chekhov Russian Theater. In total, he staged more than 40 performances. His works have been repeatedly awarded the National Theatre Award “Golden Mask”.
